A company of the Hermes group since 1976, the bespoke footwear is still hand-crafted in our workshop in Paris while the ready to wear collections are manufactured in our Northampton factory. John Lobb owns a global distribution network that includes twenty stores established in eight countries and works with a highly selective network of partners and authorized retailers around the world.
- In coordination with the Supply Chain and Customer Services Manager (SCCSM), the Outsourced Goods Planner is responsible for ensuring that outsourced finished goods are delivered to our Northampton site, are quality checked and ready for dispatch in line with shipping and customer requirements. The position entails extensive liaison with all parties within the supply chain.

The Company sells two distinctive types of shoes: welted styles which are manufactured in our Northampton factory and non-welted styles which are made by third party manufacturers and bought in along with leather accessories, shoe care products and footwear accessories. As far as our customers are concerned we offer a complete range that is seamless and does not differentiate as to the source of manufacture.
Report to the SCCSM: •Be responsible for planning and when necessary placing orders with suppliers for outsourced finished goods. The current hierarchy of outsourced products comprises:•Ready-to-wear non-welted shoes and sandals•Accessories (belts, slippers and others)•Shoe care (shoe care cases, brushes, consumables including cream, wax, buffing gloves etc)•Footwear (shoe trees, shoe horns, socks)•Arrange for necessary raw materials and components to be delivered to suppliers as required•Track progress with suppliers to ensure the goods are delivered on time and in full alerting the SCCSM or other relevant party of any shortages or delays that will impact on meeting customer deliveries•Following receipt of sales forecasts, be responsible for identifying current stock levels of outsourced items, plan for new purchase orders and deliveries to stock to ensure sales orders can be fulfilled in full and on time•When outsourced goods are due for delivery liaise with the SCCS Manager to plan physical receipt of the goods and liaise with the Quality Manager to ensure the goods are inspected in accordance with agreed standards and in a timely way•Prepare and circulate appropriate reports on delivery performance and availability to ensure all supply chain parties are fully up to date•Work with the Product Manager and the Product Development Team to plan and follow the production of Production Trials and Agent/Press Samples•Learn the basics of the Northampton factory production Planner role to ensure that basic cover can be provided for the Planner in times of holiday or other unplanned absence•On a regular but ad hoc undertake the weekly production plan duties to ensure full inter-changeability in the role

- Qualities and skills expected: •Previous experience of planning or purchasing would be an advantage•Exceptional administration and organizational skills are essential•Good spoken communication ability (English) and excellent communication skills•Responsible and conscientious attitude; organized, rigorous and ability to work with autonomy•Spirit of co-operation within and between departments; ability to create a friendly environment•Good knowledge of MS Office (particularly Excel)•Good understanding of internal procedures•Knowledge of ERP systems would be an advantage•Working knowledge of French and Italian would be an advantage•Self motivated and calm under pressure
