A company of the Hermes group since 1976, the bespoke footwear is still hand-crafted in our workshop in Paris while the ready to wear collections are manufactured in our Northampton factory.
John Lobb owns a distribution network that includes seventeen stores established in eight countries and works with a highly selective network of partners and authorized retailers around the world.

- Reporting to the Director of Product Development (DPD), interacts with various members within the Product Development Team:

- Product Merchandiser (PM)
- Technical Development Manager (TDM)
- Technical Development Assistant (TDA)

Principales activités

Samples: in conjunction with Director of Product Development (DPD) & Product Merchandiser (PM) & TDA

Create the list for master samples, to be sent to commercial for inputting on M3. To be followed with the planning department

Once completed, master samples to be labelled, and despatched (for meetings, photography, spring walk, showroom

Create the list for agent samples, to be sent to commercial for inputting on M3. To be followed with the planning department

Once completed, agent samples to split into half pairs (apart from Japan who have pairs), labelled and sent to the directors worldwide

Create the list for press samples, to be sent to commercial for inputting on M3. To be followed with the planning department. Once completed samples to be labelled and sent to the press agencies

Sample control: under supervision of DPD & TDA

Ensure the boardroom display is as up to date as possible - no discontinued shoes on display and as many new styles showing as possible

Unpack, check and mark off all samples returned from agents and press

Send any good pairs of press samples to the factory shop (ensuring all information is documented and sent to the commercial team for crediting the marketing department)

Send any bad pairs of press samples to the factory for touching up

Make stock requisition forms for any stock borrowed from the warehouse

Photography: in conjunction with DPD & TDA
Liaise with the marketing team for when shoes are needed for photography and ensure the master samples arrive on time
Provide a list with all samples including the information for labelling the images (which has to be in line with Hermes rules so the marketing team can upload them onto the DAM)

Leather swatches: in conjunction with PM & TDA
Request the making of leather swatch books
Despatch leather swatch books when requested
Ensure any discontinued leather swatches are returned from the stores

Website: under supervision of DPD & PM
Ensure website is fully up to date (look at weekly store manager feedback)
Update all prices
Add any new products on the pre-production and ask for all feedback before then adding to live
Create all information and upload for the e-sales (twice a year)
Help work on new developments (e.g. By Request Configurator)

ADHOC: in conjunction with ALL team: DPD, PM, TDM & TDA
Create all customs invoice paperwork for anything sent outside of the EU
Help source gifts for events
Update the internal communication boards in the factory to keep people updated on new stores/events/products (boards are on each floor and in Chaucer court)
Update all shared files (product images, info packs) so the latest information is to hand for the commercial and planning departments
Prototypes and Archiving Collections
Responsible for the controlment of the prototype stock: availability of models, inputs / outputs, loans, inventory deviations
be the interlocutor of management control for annual inventories
ensure complete archiving of collection development elements after showroom & press presentations

Product Bible – ensure is constantly updated with information & images received are added
